Marco canora, the chef at hearth in the east village, has been interested for years in the oyster rooms and cellars that used to dominate new york in the 1890s and early 1900s., marco canora's latest concept for this bright, compact space in the east village is a wine bar with an oyster-centric small bites menu.  the bar is on one side, a few rows of bar height tables on the other, fitting at most three people per row.  unsurprisingly, the restaurant fills quickly. it's aptly named an "oyster room."
